On Zumba

As you may well know from my previous exercise posts (all one of them) I am not super athletic, or in shape. But in a somewhat ridiculous attempt to fix my flabby appendages I bought a wristband for BYU exercise classes.

There are a couple zumba classes a week and my roommate who goes all the time loves them. After her strong recommendation, my vague recollection that I like doing dance aerobic kind of things, and my complete disregard of the fact that my roommate is also the most ripped woman I know, I decided Zumba would be fun route for me to take.

My top 5 discoveries since this time:
1. Zumba makes my body cry.
2. Zumba makes me sweat more than anything else I've ever done.
3. My cha cha resembles an antelope having a seizure.
4. I totally love this ridiculousness.
5. I should go more because that pass cost a lot more than amount of times I've gone.

In conclusion, the best summary statement is found in one of my friend's recent fb statuses: Doing Zumba is like being the drunk dancing girl at the party. Except you're not drunk, you're not at a party, and you know exactly how stupid you look.

Amen.

I like Zumba because I get to look stupid without even trying. :P But it sure is a good workout!

That may be the best zumba quote ever! I've only done it once before, myself, and it totally kicked my butt, but I loved it.
